Long time no update

Sorry about that. I’ve had trouble with the computer.  There’s not much to update because I haven’t been playing Pleasantview lately and just as I was getting into it the graphics card played up.

Anyway, over at Parker’s place, his daughter Melisande fancied herself as a ballerina.

Louis is still a toddler.

At Belle and Ocean’s place, Dusky grew to school age,

and his twin sisters grew to toddlers.

Daisy above and Rosie below.

Brandon, unfortunately, has the Pleasant nose.

At Stone’s, his son is called Tad and grew to a toddler.

Lastly, over at Nancy’s son, Joe’s.  Joe and his wife had a toddler daughter (whose name escapes me for the moment) and she appeared frozen at the back of the apartment.  Then she disappeared.  Joe’s wife reluctantly got pregnant again, thinking their daughter was lost forever.  They decided to move into a house.   Lo and behold, the toddler girl appears at the new house!  She grew into school age.

That’s Joe’s pregnant wife in the background (whose name also escapes me) and Joe’s half-brother, Cedar, is visiting.  The teenage boy is Banshee Todd’s kid (the Pleasant family).

Brief update on (nearly) everyone

Dustin’s family

Skip Junior’s kids grew up.  Storm first:

He looked fine as a little boy but now it’s obvious he’s inherited his father’s nose.

Dawn was next:

Her nose looks ok – inherited from her mother.  Their mother, Moonrise, meanwhile, had grown into an elder.  Skip jnr’s not there yet.  The eldest, Penny, headed off to uni.

Belle had another baby boy and called it Dusky.  Her husband, Ocean, wants 6 kids.  I realised this too late – could’ve got the cheesecake out.  Next pregnancy I will (and she is).

Beau’s family

Parker’s baby son, Louis, grew to a toddler.

Parker’s mother, Veronica, was met at the front of the house by the Grim Reaper one night after work.

She was 72.  Her partner, Ethan is in his late 60s and forgets to feed himself, preferring to raid the bar instead.  It won’t be long before he carks it.

Chip’s family

Stone Broke and Megan McTavish married privately with his mother looking on (in her pyjamas).

In the background, next door, is the original Broke house, now inhabited by Moonrise’s twin brother, Starlight, and his family.

Megan’s got a bit of a chin thing happening.

Megan, quite frankly, did not like the family home – way too small and plain – so they moved out and into a larger house nearer the sea.  Sorry, forgot to take pics – next update will show the new residence.

Nancy’s family

Finally, Joe Thayer’s wife, Amanda had a baby – a girl they called Anna.  Joe and Amanda lived next door to Joe’s half-brother, Cedar Greenwood.  Cedar and wife just had a second daughter and for some reason, the baby shows up in the apartment next door.  Joe and Amanda keep wanting to pick it up.  I moved the baby so that Joe could and he went to feed it with unfortunate results.

The baby, of course, had disappeared but that didn’t stop Joe acting as if it hadn’t.  He then dutifully threw the bottle away in the rubbish bin.

Weird glitch.

It’s a bit of a pain that you get glitches from the apartment next door like the baby above (which you can’t see of course).  Sims keep showing up even though they’ve moved out.  In one of my apartments with stairs, everyone got stuck on the stairwell and no-one could go up or down.  I solved that one by moving out the Sims who were affected.  Fun.

I only played 2 Sim days of the Brokes.  I’ll try to update after a longer period so something more happens.

The end of generation 2

Nancy Thayer, née Brannon, daughter of Brandi Broke, died age 71 (I think – I neglected to note it down).

Her surviving son, Joe, married his room-mate, Amanda, soon after.

They married privately in the apartment.

Tragedy strikes

Yet another death in Pleasantview.  Mary, daughter of Nancy and Avri, died after getting food poison and trying too hard to get fit.

She hadn’t even found a job yet.  (Actually I didn’t want her – she was mean to her half-brother and boring, so when she happened to get food poisoning I prevented her getting any rest.)  Nancy was naturally upset and even Avri cried a little.  Avri is now an elder.

Mary’s brother Joe, didn’t seem too concerned with Mary’s death.  He got on well with his half-brother, Cedar and his real father and aunt (who recently lost her husband, Theophile Charvat).  They had an outing one night and played card games.

Joe and half-brother, Cedar, with their dad, Forest and aunt, Valley.

Joe and Cedar live separately in semi-detached apartments in Pleasantview.

Developments

Things are definitely not great for Dustin.

Apparently Dustin rejected a couple of advances by Angela and ever since she’s been picking on him and fighting.

These fights all happened while I just watched.

Angela tried to tend her dying vege garden but got zapped by lightning.

She was pretty much in the red zone and didn’t eat either.  I had to get her to eat.  Dustin needed her at least for her friends so he could get promoted.  Otherwise he could have been tempted to break up with Angela.  She wasn’t doing herself any favours.

At Beau’s, Veronica wanted to win a dance contest and her first attempt was a miserable failure.

Beau had gone with her to the music place and had, meanwhile, attempted to tinker with something.

The whole outing would have been a complete failure but Veronica tried again and won a contest.

Her mother has since died, age 69, with her father close to death also.

At Chip’s, little Buck is proving to be a child prodigy.

He is potty-trained and has learned to walk and talk, with still two days before becoming school age.

Finally, at Nancy’s, her son, Joe, went to see his birth father, Forest Greenwood.

They got on well.

The twins have since gone to uni and are in the same dorm as their half-brother, Forest’s son Cedar.  Joe and Cedar get on well but Mary hates him.

The twins grow up

Nancy still hasn’t had a promotion.  She’s taking forever to get her body skills up.

Avri is making more toys and might decide to open a shop to sell them.

The twins met their father one day.  Nancy invited Forest over to meet them.  Avri was upstairs so he didn’t see the welcoming or goodbye kiss.  Seems Nancy still has a thing for him.  (No pics, sorry.)

The twins became teenagers shortly afterwards.

He definitely looks like a Greenwood.

Mary looks more like her mum.

Oops

Life was now settled at Nancy’s place.  Avri, being at the top of his career, had a lot of time on his hands so he built a shed out the back and began making toys.  He made a kite for Mary and a firetruck for Joe.

Nancy had a concrete fence built around the house.  Unfortunately it used up a lot of money and they found the simoleons greatly dwindled, but thanks to Avri’s salary it soon built up again.  Nancy was promoted to MVP.  The family was happy and the kids loved their parents.

But Nancy found, to her horror and quite by accident, that the twins were not Avri’s!  (Actually I happened to look at the family tree and find that Avri wasn’t the dad!).  No wonder the kids were good-looking.  They took after their real father – Forest Greenwood (an old boyfriend).  It’s no wonder she had twins – with twins on her side of the family and on Forest’s side (he’s from a family of 10).  Oops.  Nancy could’ve sworn she got pregnant after the wedding but it must have been before (and she didn’t even remember the deed!).  Poor old Avri.  But at least the kids had his surname.

Nancy found out that the old Broke house had been bought and a new family had moved in – none other than one of Forest’s younger brothers.  That wasn’t so bad.   What hurt was that the new family did away with the headstones – sold them off!  The ghosts of Brandi and the girls were no more.  Nancy felt even worse for abandoning the house but then they all seemed so much happier where they were (as long as Avri didn’t find out about the twins!).

Nancy’s older sister, Jeanette, continued to breed puppies.  Another litter had just been born.  She’d now bred 8 – almost halfway to her goal of 20.  But tragedy struck.  Lightning struck a tree at the back of the house and it burned the tree down and then set alight the untended garden (ie the weeds).  Jeanette in her panic got too close.

She died and the dogs were taken away for adoption.  I hadn’t planned this but I let it happen.  I didn’t really want 20 dogs that all looked the same in the neighbourhood.  She’d wanted to get married but there were no suitors and it was all rather tedious (mopping up dog wee and cleaning…).

So out of Brandi’s four girls, only one remained.

Nancy and the twins

The twins were quite happy – between their father and the nanny they seemed to get what they needed although the nanny was a bit absent-minded.  She kept getting milk for the twins when all they wanted was a fresh nappy and a sleep.

The twins did enjoy the new play table,

and the new bouncy toy.

Joe, in particular, loved it.

Both parents taught them nursery rhymes but they hadn’t learned how to walk or talk yet.

Avri wanted to move house – he didn’t like the cramped conditions.  He had furniture in storage for which there was no room.  As a Hall of Famer he felt he deserved better.  Nancy was reluctant.  Her mother and sister’s graves were in the garden and she felt that leaving the Broke house was something like betrayal.

But then Noelene’s ghost scared her once too often.

Nancy was persuaded to move house.  They moved into a double-storeyed house that, although it was rather plain, was bigger than the Broke house.

The parents tried teaching walking and talking, in the rain, while the furniture was moved in.

Avri now had room for some of his furniture like a piano.

The lessons continued in the new house.

Mary learned to talk and enjoyed the nursery rhymes but Joe didn’t quite learn to walk.  He enjoyed the bouncy animal too much.

All too soon they grew to school age.

Joe

and Mary

They’re both pretty good-looking kids considering.

Nancy still felt bad about abandoning her mother’s house but she hoped one day it would be inhabited by a Broke.

Nancy gets married

Nancy was living alone in the old Broke house but she’d met Avri Thayer through work.  He was a hall of famer (although she didn’t know it at the time).  They became close and eventually Nancy proposed.

She wanted a proper wedding so set the date and invited family.

Seen here are sister, Jeanette, half-brothers Dustin and Chip (at the back), a local teen, and Nancy and Jeanette’s half-brother Johnny Random’s aunt, Candida.

From left Carla Random (Johnny’s aunt), Jeanette, Dustin and Angela.

Everyone had a great time, despite there being no wedding food or proper entertainment.

Mrs Nancy Thayer later discovered she was pregnant.

She had twins (of course!) – Joe and Mary.  They are now toddlers.

Joe above and Mary below.

They’re better looking than their parents – so far.  Avri is an attentive father but Nancy won’t change nappies.
