Brandi dies

Brandi died, age 76.  Her live-in toyboy, Clay didn’t survive much longer.  As he mourned for Brandi, and went crazy, he forgot about some food in the oven.

Fire

After his ‘treatment’ he was so tired he went to bed.  When he woke up again, the kitchen was no more:

Ashes

Clay subsequently starved to death.  Just as he collapsed a pop-up said he had the day off.  What a relief.

Nancy dropped out of university and headed back home.  Clay had swept up the ashes as he starved, so Nancy just had to replace everything in the kitchen.

Her half-brother, Johnny Random, headed back home to his mother, Charlotte (nothing eventful had happened to her so no update there).

No update as yet on Nancy’s other brothers and sister.

Brief update

Nothing much happening with Brandi who’s smitten with her toyboy.  Jeanette is still living with Chip and adopted two puppies – Spinky and Spodge.

At Beau’s place, Veronica is pregnant.

At Dustin’s, Angela gave birth to a girl and called her Belle.

Belle

I can’t recall if I’d already mentioned her but she’s now a toddler.

Belle

She looks quite different to my usual toddlers.  The update on Angela’s sister, Lilith, is over at the Pleasantview Sims link.

Puppies

Jeanette returned home from uni.  She has small eyes so now wears glasses.  I don’t have a pic.  She didn’t really like being back home because her mother had gone absolutely nuts and invited her black boyfriend home to live (the same guy she got caught flirting with by Willy).

Brandi and bf

He’s like less than half her age and he’s already nicked one of her possessions.  Jeanette couldn’t stand him so she moved out but first she adopted a puppy.

Puppy

Her LTW is to raise 20 puppies and I figured later that this probably meant breeding them instead of adopting them.  Oh well.  Jeanette moved in with Chip which has more room to raise dogs.  I wonder what Chip will think.

Tragedy

It was still chaos at Brandi’s place with just the three teens complaining all the time.  They couldn’t seem to do anything for themselves.  I had to direct them to go to the toilet, eat, etc.  The main problem was the cockroaches outside.  They all wanted to go outside and stomp on them.  The rubbish bin was knocked over and rubbish spilled everywhere.  The maid cleaned it up every day but…  I was looking at it just after the maid cleaned it up and Joelene came out and kicked it over.  That was the last straw.  I was sick of her – the worst complainer and horrible to everyone.  I put her in the sleepout, locked the door and deposited a fridge and a barbecue and told her to grill some hotdogs or something.  (Evil laugh here.)

Joelene

It took a while.  She collapsed and looked like she might be consumed.

Joelene sleeps in the fire

But she woke up and danced around a bit more.  Finally she died and the Grim Reaper took her away.  I unlocked the door where Brandi and Noelene were sobbing.  Noelene walked in – there was still a small fire in front of the fridge.  For some unimaginable reason she walked through the fire to the fridge and caught fire herself.  I watched in shock of her stupidity.  I tried to direct her to run away but she died quickly.  Unbelievable.  So I unintentionally killed Noelene off as well.  From four daughters to two in one night.  That left the uglier Nancy (Noelene was better looking) and Jeanette still at university.

Dustin registered the deaths in his memory but he didn’t really know them.  He danced with Skip junior.

Dustin and Skip

Skip junior grew into a child.

Stinky Skip

Over at Beau’s and Chip’s, Chip flirted with Beau’s potential girlfriend, Veronica.

Chip and Veronica

I can’t imagine why he thinks he has a chance…

The Brokes breaking up

First a few family pics.

Joelene, Jeanette, Brandi

Joelene complains, as usual, while her sister, Jeanette, plays with Brandi.

Teens

The teens at the dinner table.  Jeanette went off to university shortly after, leaving three girls and Chip.

Nancy and Noelene

Nancy’s like her sister, Joelene – always complaining – they even look alike.  Noelene is more like Jeanette and wants to do homework.

Noelene

Maybe she’ll be a ballerina.  A drama major at uni?

Anyway, like the older twins, Noelene and Nancy didn’t get on.

Twin fight

Shortly after that they grew into teens.

Nancy

Nancy above and Noelene below:

Noelene

Joelene and Chip did their homework.

Chip grew into an adult at last.

Chip

He moved out and moved in with his brother, Beau.  Now that just left three girls.

Beau, meanwhile, is getting friendlier with Veronica Huntingdon.

Beau and Veronica

Dustin’s son, Skip Jnr, is now a toddler.

Angela and Skip

Willy was about to become an elder, so he decided on one last fling with Charlotte Random.  They went on a date to the Love Maze (whatever it’s called) and woohooed in the photo booth.

Willy and Charlotte

Now he’d had his fling he could devote his elderhood to Brandi.  That was the plan anyway.

Willy

Willy with Charlotte’s rose.  Does the future look bleak?  The house will soon be empty of noisy kids.  Willy had built a second story on his painting shed and bought a desk and computer.  Only he had access to both rooms. Perhaps he’d write his memoirs?

But Brandi put paid to his plans.  He rounded the corner of the house after doing some painting and found Brandi flirting with a passing neighbour.  A fair bit of slapping went on.  But even so, Willy was prepared to forgive her and carry on.  But somehow their relationship just went downhill.

Fight

They broke up and Willy moved out (taking his computer and easel with him and demolishing the shed).  Chip now hated him and I think the girls were not too pleased.  They were at school at the time so they came home to a house with just Brandi, sobbing.  Willy moved in with Tyler.  Brandi is alone again with three kids.

Joelene Broke

Well, she’s the only one I have pictures of, for some reason.

I didn’t think her father was ugly, but I can’t get over how unattractive she is.

Joelene

Here she is amusing herself while school “friends” Apple Pai and Theophile Charvat talk and play together.

Even when Apple leaves and Theophile wants to talk or play, she ignores him.  Not the most sociable of creatures.

Joelene ignores

Anyway, it was time for the older twins to grow into teens.  Thankfully, Joelene lost some of her ugliness.

Joelene teen

The toddler twins had already grown into school-age kids.  On the left is Nancy with Brandi. In the foreground is Noelene.  Or is it the other way around?  Jeanette is in front of (blocked by) Willy and is about to grow into a teen.  Joelene is the one in orange, with Chip standing behind her.  Chip can’t get into uni or get a job because he’s failing and concentrates on the girls’ homework instead so they’re not all taken away (Joelene never did her homework.) I think I’ll make Joelene do the younger twins’ homework.

The twins

I mentioned previously that Brandi had another set of twins.  They’re called Nancy and Noelene.  It’s a bit of a houseful.  Joelene and Jeanette grew from toddlers but they were still demanding and messy and hated each other.

Joelene

Joelene, the eldest twin, is not very attractive in either looks or personality.  She seems jealous of the prettier Jeanette and picks fights with her all the time.

Twins fighting

Jeanette mostly minds her own business, until Joelene gets in her face.

Jeanette

Chip, still a teen and probably unlikely to get into uni, thanks to having to look after babies, prefers Jeanette.

Chip

Chip still keeps in touch with Beau, who dropped out of uni and now lives next door to the Pleasant family.  Lilith Pleasant took an immediate dislike to Beau.  How could he possibly imagine she’d like the younger brother of her hated sister’s boyfriend, now husband?

Beau also keeps in touch with older brother, Dustin.  Over at Dustin’s house, Angela gave birth to a boy.  Dustin called it Skip after his father.

Meanwhile, the younger Broke twins grew into toddlers.

Willy with baby

Here’s Willy with the elder twin, Nancy.  Brandi is still a useless mother.  She’ll go to a crying baby, pick it up, put it down and just stand there or walk away.  Or she’ll pick it up and feed it even after it’s just been fed and just needs a nappy change.  Totally useless – rather like a nanny.  Thankfully she couldn’t have anymore children because she was out of fertile time and has just become an elder.

A wedding

I thought it was time to visit Pleasantview and watch the chaos at the Broke family with the twins, Jeanette and Joelene and the younger of Brandi’s sons, Chip.

I began to wonder if this family is prone to glitches as Joelene (her again) looked pretty weird crawling…

Freaky baby

Brandi was finding it difficult dealing with two demanding babies (she had a hard enough time with the boys).

Demanding babies

Chip behaved himself and stopped kicking over the rubbish bin.  He grew into a teen.

Chip

The twins were still seeking attention.

Willy finally got a bit of piece and quiet when everyone was sleeping.  He hasn’t had time to do any painting lately – the twins never seem to sleep long and are constantly demanding something.

Willy watches TV

Brandi still wants more babies!  She’s nuts.

Meanwhile Dustin and Angela Pleasant had moved into a nearby house with Tyler Hunicke (from the Random family).  They got engaged and married soon after.

Angela and Dustin

They were busy making out even as the wedding guests arrived.

For some reason the wedding arch didn’t work.  Dustin and Angela didn’t go there but just wanted to ‘watch’, so I had them marry anyway while everyone was just standing around.

Wedding

Notice Brandi and her bump?  Poor Willy.

The guests were still haphazardly milling around while Angela and Dustin said their vows, exchanged rings and kissed.

Wedding kiss

Guests included Angela’s mother, Hortense Charvat, Charlotte Random, Beau Broke, Melissa Fancey (there seem to be a few ‘Fanceys’ in this neighbourhood), and Tyler.

Wedding party

Tyler is chatting up Melissa.  Dustin, Beau and Hortense look at Angela.  Beau looks older than his older brother.  Angela wants babies – good grief.

Tyler's first kiss

Tyler had his first kiss with Melissa.  Awwww.

Time-wasting glitch

I just wasted a lot of time with Willy, Brandi and the family thanks to some weird goings-on.

The twin girls grew into toddlers and all seemed fine.  Here are pics before the problem…

Jeanette

Jeanette

Joelene

Joelene

But one of them froze – Joelene, I think.  So I exited then went to go back into the house again and discovered they were babies. I was certain I’d saved and sure enough the photos I took of the girls as toddlers were there – as you can see from the photos above and Chip teasing one of them below.

Chip teasing

So, they were definitely supposed to be toddlers but now they were babies and one of them was still frozen – but now a frozen baby not a toddler.  When Brandi walked past it, the icon of the toddler came up.  When I tried to get her to pick it up the toddler icon came up briefly then disappeared.

I first tried to bring them to the cake to make toddlers because they should have been according to Chip’s age, but nothing happened after Brandi blew the candles out. I exited to the neighbourhood and came in again – they were still babies. I could bring one of them to the cake and she grew to a toddler again, but the other was still frozen and couldn’t be picked up let alone made to grow.

So I tried to have Willy move out with the baby. He left and the baby disappeared but I couldn’t exit to the neighbourhood and his and her icons were still there. I had to restart. I tried about three times and only after restarting the computer the last time when I couldn’t exit to the neighbourhood was it ok – ie both babies were moving. They were still babies but I managed to get both of them to grow to toddlers and it all seemed ok – finally!!  What an effort!  The frozen baby was like invisible and Brandi could put the toddler on top of it in the cot.

Toddler on baby

I didn’t need that extra hassle because it was chaos as it was. Neither parent wanted to change nappies for a while, so screaming babies (when both were active) and dirty dishes and bottles lying everywhere.

Chip was neglected and took his anger out on the rubbish bin which he kept kicking over. This resulted in cockroaches being everywhere and the already stressed parents going out to stomp on them. Chip also ruined Willy’s paintings. His paintings were the only source of income as neither of them are employed so I wasn’t too chuffed with the little bastard. I made a shed for Willy to do his painting in which Chip couldn’t go into.

Painting shed

I then made a little ‘time-out’ room for Chip. Every time he kicked over the rubbish bin I put him in a door-less room and let him cool off. He had a bed and the pinball machine so he could sleep or play. He was pissing me off on top of all the other problems. Christ!!

Sleeping

Peace at last!

Toddlers

But not for long…

(I hadn’t bothered changing their appearance second time around!)

So it all seems ok now and Chip is about to become a teen. Man, the time I wasted – at least a couple of hours trying to fix the baby glitch!  Arrrgghhh!

Willy moves in

I tried to get Brandi to invite Willy over so she could ask him to move in.  She did ask him but I got the weirdest message “Your pet is pregnant. You can’t move in until the little ones have arrived.”  Bizarre!  Ok, then.  So I went out, went into Willy’s place, had him move out, then moved him straight into Brandi’s place.  Done.  He married her there and then (before the baby was born so it would have his name).  With Willy arriving, Brandi was no longer broke.  Dustin could move out instead of feeling obliged to stay home and earn money to support the family.  Beau became a teen and, since his grades were good, he could go to college and also not feel obliged to get a job.  That left Chip who had by now grown to a child.  Chip liked Willy – perhaps because he actually paid attention to him.

Willy re-arranged the house.  He made the bathroom into two rooms.  It was always a hassle for someone wanting to go to the toilet to have to wait until someone had finished their bath.  Now the toilet was separate.  He re-arranged the kitchen/dining area, but then it was discovered that in order for him to park his car, half the kitchen had to be demolished.  Major restructuring involved.  The boys’ room was cut in half too, so a whole room had to be built onto the side of the house.  The new room was bigger and had a hallway leading to it.  The kitchen/dining was on the right-hand side of the entrance and the TV watching (can’t really call it a lounge) was on the left.

Brandi hardly had time to take any of this in when she went into labour.  Two babies.  She had twin girls.  It was the cheesecake!  I’d been told that if a pregnant Sim ate cheesecake after the first bump then she’d get twins.  Sure enough, she did.  They’re named Joelene and Jeanette.  Willy will pay far more attention to the babies than Brandi ever did.  She already dumped one baby on the bathroom floor and gave the other to Willy and walked away.  Fine, fine.  He put both in the new cots so he could sit down and recover from the shock.
